Phony Conservatives Garofalo, West, and Lucero Pocket Per Diems, Despite Staying Home

Rep Garofalo (Left), Rep West (Center), Rep Lucero (Right)

Politicians are known for saying one thing and doing another; Minnesota is no exception to this rule. During the height of the pandemic in 2020, many legislators were encouraged to stay home and attend legislative proceedings via zoom. Despite this, there were several legislators who claimed the full $9,900 stipend for travel expenses… a few of which claim to care about protecting taxpayer dollars.

According to Fox 9, Republican representatives Pat Garofalo (Farmington), Nolan West (Blaine) and Lucero (Dayton) all claimed this per diem despite failing to be physically in St. Paul for more than 10 days last year.

This is particularly shocking considering that these supposed “fiscal policy champions” all live within a reasonable distance of St. Paul. Nonetheless, they decided to pocket these travel expenses to pad their own wallets.

This is not a responsible use of taxpayer dollars. If these three representatives continue to campaign on the promise of being fiscally responsible, they should face up to voters who see through their lies.

Give these representatives a phone call, and let them know how you feel about their stay-at-home legislating on your dime.

Gazelka Tells Voters He Is The Most Conservative Candidate For Gov; Here’s Why He’s Wrong:

Senator Paul Gazelka appeared in an interview with Alpha News on Tuesday to discuss his campaign for Governor of Minnesota. In his typical fashion, he tried to portray himself as the most conservative candidate for the job. Here’s why he’s wrong:

  • Never Again

Representative Mortensen’s Never Again Bill is the ONLY piece of legislation that removes the Governor’s ability to declare an executive emergency. This proposal ensures that what happened in 2020 can truly never happen again.

Several candidates for Governor have already signed the hugely popular “Never Again Pledge”. By signing, candidates promise to make Representative Mortensen’s Never Again Bill their first priority upon entering office. Unfortunately, Gazelka did not join the more conservative candidates in this regard.

Senator Gazelka has REFUSED to sign on to this pledge, and even refused to hear the senate version of the bill while he was Majority Leader. If he didn’t support the legislation in the senate, he would not as Governor.

  • Tax Increases

Gazelka walks around like he’s the most fiscally responsible politician in the state. He claims that he “held the line” against tax and spending increases. Unfortunately for him and Minnesotans, he is dead wrong.

When it comes to taxes, Gazelka forgets about a key tax that has been detrimental to Minnesota’s healthcare industry. This 2% tax on healthcare providers, hospitals, surgical centers and wholesale drug distributors passed costs down to people like you! Originally passed in 2011 with a sunset clause, Republicans renewed this tax in 2020.

Fellow gubernatorial candidate Scott Jensen actually AUTHORED the re-upped tax on Minnesotans, which Gazelka ultimately supported. Read more here

  • Empty Promises to Hold AG Ellison Accountable

Attorney General Keith Ellison has acted as Tyrant Tim Walz’ right hand man when it comes to antagonizing small businesses. After Walz issued the edict to force mom-and-pop shops on main street to close, Keith Ellison ensured that any dissenters were fined and jailed.

This kind of bullying should not have been tolerated by any legislative leader at the Capitol. After pressure from grassroots activists, Senator Gazelka released a video in December of 2020 threatening to defund the Attorney General’s Office for his bullying.

However, it turns out that Gazelka was all talk and no action. In July of 2021, Gazelka actually agreed to INCREASE the Attorney General’s budget by 17%! Why is this supposed “conservative” rewarding Keith Ellison for his mob tactics against small businesses?

  • Failure To Pass School Choice

During the 2021 budget negotiations, Senate Republicans came out swinging on the issue of passing school vouchers. Considering that they had full control of the Senate, they had some serious influence at the bargaining table.

The initial vouchers proposal would take a portion of tax dollars and put them into a fund that's directly available for parents to use for private school tuition. This would have given parents real choice when it comes to schooling for their children.

Instead of demanding what they promised their constituents, Senate Republicans led by Paul Gazelka gave up on giving children a better choice in schooling and instead increased public school funding by 2.45%. Keep in mind these are the same public schools that kept children at home via zoom, demanded masks, and are now demanding mandatory vaccines for staff.

As you can see, Senator Paul Gazelka is good at making promises, but bad at keeping them. This isn’t even an exhausted list of his failures!

A true conservative would pass the Never Again Bill, stop ALL tax increases, defund corrupt government agencies, and stand up for our children in schools.

Next time you see him on the campaign trail touting his phony conservative credentials, feel free to ask him about any one of these issues that he dropped the ball on.

Miller Gives Up On Holding Malcolm Accountable

Image obtained from StarTribune

The buzz surrounding the potential upcoming special session has only grown louder in recent weeks. Lawmakers have discussed how to allocate the $250 million in federal taxpayer dollars which has been handed to the Minnesota government for alleviating frontline workers. This special session will allegedly determine how these funds are allocated; Though there are several items on everyone's agenda.

Along with calls for a special session comes North Star Liberty Alliance members who demand accountability for the overreaching Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm, as well as calls to stop vaccine mandates in Minnesota.

Republicans carry a slim majority in the Minnesota Senate, which allows them to remove Walz’ commissioners with a simple majority vote. Despite being a powerful tool to hold Tyrant Tim Walz accountable, it appears that they will not use it.

As of Tuesday, it appears that Republican Senate Majority Leader Jeremy Miller is willing to let Jan Malcolm off the hook…

That’s right, Miller announced that he has talked to Malcolm and is willing to let her keep her job. He knows just as well as you and I that Malcolm was responsible for telling Governor Walz to shut down businesses and implement mask mandates.

Worse yet, she can still do A LOT of damage in her position. Did you see that she wants universal masking in our children's classrooms?

This special session has yet to be called, so there is still time to put pressure on Senator Miller to change his mind. Contact him NOW and tell him to fire Jan Malcolm for her extreme government overreach.

Fire Jan Malcolm

Image obtained from MPR

Over the past year, there has been a lot of talk about firing Governor Walz’ Commissioner of Health, Jan Malcolm. In Minnesota, the GOP-led Senate has the ability to confirm or reject gubernatorial appointees with a simple majority vote. Grassroots activists are demanding that the senate remove Malcolm from her position; but why?

You see, Malcolm is one of the key players who helped orchestrate Walz’ overreaching lockdowns and mandates last year. Currently, she is in charge of pushing the Governor’s vaccine bribes program on your children.

By removing Malcolm, Republicans would be checking Walz’ power and putting him back in his place. This is the least they can do after Walz’ executive tirade destroyed the state.

Senate Republicans have had ample opportunities to fire her over the several special sessions held in the past year. For whatever reason, they have found the courage to call for her ousting when they are out of session and do not hold any power.

Some Senators, however, have remained skeptical on the prospect of removing Malcolm and holding Walz accountable for the damage he has caused. Senator Michelle Benson has voiced her public opposition to firing Malcolm as recently as September.

Senator Benson is also a Republican candidate for governor. Her defense of Malcolm will likely make it difficult for her to rally conservative activists around her campaign.

It’s not too late to apply political pressure on this issue. You can call your State Senator and demand that they hold Jan Malcolm accountable as soon as possible. Whether it be at a special session in December, or the beginning of the regular session in February.

Walz Reveals Political Pressure Works

Governor Tim Walz had no authority to assume his kingly emergency powers in March of 2020. Groups like North Star Liberty Alliance have been educating Minnesota voters on this fact from day one, and Tyrant Tim is starting to feel the pressure.

You see, Governor Walz points to Chapter 12 of the Minnesota State Statutes to derive his unilateral law making ability. The problem is, the Minnesota Legislature revoked the governor’s ability to declare a pandemic-related emergency all the way back in 2002. Despite this, Walz has plowed ahead with lockdowns, shelter in place orders, school closures, vaccine mandates for state employees, and more.

After facing pressure from voters, the Minnesota legislature finally voted to revoke the current “emergency” in July. Despite this rebuke of Walz and his executive edicts, the far left is begging him to re-up these powers to institute more mandates and lockdowns.

As if someone reminded him that he will be facing re-election in less than a year, Governor Walz told members of the media on Wednesday that declaring a new executive emergency would be political suicide.

If Tyrant Tim once again put on his emergency powers crown, he stands to lose his Health Commissioner, Jan Malcolm. Activists have begged the squishy Republican Senate to fire Commissioner Malcolm for her role in the lockdowns and school closures of last year. If he declared a new emergency, he would be required by law to call a special session in which Republicans would have their chance to fire her.

Walz is not in a comfortable spot, and it’s thanks to activists like you. Because you showed up to protests, wrote and called your legislators, and contributed to groups like NSLA, Walz is fearing for his political life. If you want to see Governor Walz pay for his corrupt and tyrannical actions over the past two years, then please sign the petition to Impeach him.

Walz Makes His Demands For Special Session; Refuses To Ban Mandates

On Friday, Governor Walz sent legislative leaders a letter laying out his demands for a special session to divvy up $250 million in taxpayer dollars for frontline workers. Many activists have seen this special session as an opportunity for the Republican-held senate to force a vote on banning vaccine mandates and firing the disastrous Health Commissioner, Jan Malcolm.

In Walz’ letter, he makes clear that he wants no such votes to be taken. In fact, he demands that the only topics of discussion include the $250 million frontline workers pay bill, a bailout for “drought relief”, and another COVID-19 bailout bill.

READ THE LETTER HERE

Knowing how squishy Senate Majority Leader Jeremy Miller is, he very well may accept the demands handed down from King Walz. This is where activists like you come in.

Even if Senator Miller agrees to these terms, he cannot speak for his entire caucus. It only takes one member of the senate to force a vote on a bill or resolution. That’s why you must call and email Senate Republicans and demand that they force a roll call vote on banning vaccine mandates and firing Jan Malcolm.

Representative Mortensen already has language drafted for a proper vaccine mandates ban, which any Senator can easily adopt at a moment's notice. The amendment text can be found and shared here.

Below is a directory of all Senate Republicans. Call and email each and every one of them, demanding that they take action to stop President Biden’s radical vaccine mandate.

If you only have a few minutes, please take the time to contact Senators Paul Gazelka and Michelle Benson. These two sitting senators are running for governor, and have talked a big game on health freedom. Now is their chance to either prove themselves, or once again disappoint activists. Give them a call and demand that they stop vaccine mandates and fire Jan Malcolm.

Walz’ Secret Email Raises Transparency Concerns

Image obtained from Pioneer Press

Governor Tim Walz has good reason to be afraid of public backlash. After his reign of terror and use of emergency powers in 2020, Minnesotans are more afraid of their governor than ever. It is perhaps for this reason that Tyrant Tim is using a secret email address for official state business.

Despite requests from groups like MPR and Public Record Media, the state has not released any emails from the Governor’s recently discovered account: [email protected]

Walz does have an “official” email account, though his office admitted that it is not used.

Alpha News reports that any emails from Walz have been noticeably absent from data dumps regarding his botched pandemic response and his delayed reaction to riots and protests in Minneapolis during the summer of 2020. What is he hiding?

Governor Walz has already gotten away with far more than a Republican governor would have. If a Republican had abused their powers like Tyrant Tim has, they would have already Impeached them in the Minnesota House.

It is time for legislators to grow a spine and hold Governor Walz accountable. Not only has he destroyed our state through unilateral executive orders, but he is now hiding public information regarding his kingly decisions.

Enough is enough. It is past time to Impeach Governor Walz.

Help make it happen by signing and sharing the Official Impeachment Petition below:

Scott Jensen Shuns Activist Efforts; Never Again Bill

As you know all too well by now, politicians on both sides of the aisle talk like they have the solution to all of our problems. These politicians will shrug off efforts by long-time activists for the sake of their own political gain. In Minnesota, this couldn’t be more true with Gubernatorial Candidate, Scott Jensen.

On Monday morning, Jensen’s campaign staff sent out an email declaring that his health freedom non-sanctuary state proposal was the only path forward.

What a slap in the face to activists who have been working on stopping Walz from the beginning!

You see, North Star Liberty Alliance members have been begging Scott Jensen for months now to get behind The Never Again Bill, The Stop Vaccine Mandates Amendment, and Articles of Impeachment against Governor Walz. Scott Jensen has refused to promote all three initiatives.

As a matter of fact, Scott Jensen has publicly REFUSED to sign the Never Again pledge, unlike fellow gubernatorial candidates Mike Murphy, Mike Marti, and Neil Shah.

Representative Erik Mortensen’s Never Again bill -- HF2204 -- is the only proposal on the table for eliminating the governor’s powers. All other proposals only tinker with the governor's powers. Below are the provisions of Mortensen’s legislative proposal:

  • Governor Can’t Unilaterally Declare An Emergency: Emergency powers extension would require a 2/3rds vote in both the House and Senate.
  • Governor’s Orders Will Not Be Treated As Law: Executive orders that the governor issues will not be used as legal dictates to Minnesotans. Only the legislature can pass laws.
  • Governor Is Fined Or Imprisoned For Violating The Law: Instead of citizens being put in jail for violating the governor’s orders, the governor would be punished for abusing his or her emergency powers.
  • Your Rights Protected By A Citizens’ Bill Of Rights: Including the right of free speech, the right to exercise religious beliefs, the right to assemble, the freedom to travel, and the right to operate a business or earn income.

Our friends over at Action 4 Liberty sent the pledge out to all candidates for governor, which states that they will make the Never Again Bill their first priority upon entering office.

It gets worse...

Scott Jensen then went and refused to support or even acknowledge the popular Stop Vaccine Mandates Amendment. Instead, he introduced his own controversial proposal in conjunction with career politicians in St. Paul.

Scott Jensen would rather craft his own watered down legislation and split activist efforts in the name of boosting his campaign. Don't just take my word for it, take a look at the glaring issues with his proposal at the link below.

SCOTT JENSEN’S COPYCAT PROPOSAL IS A NON-STARTER

Of course, no long-time liberty-activists should be surprised by Jensen’s refusal to sign on to the “Never Again” pledge. He broke the last pledge that he signed!

Minnesotans cannot wait until November 2022 for the opportunity to replace Walz. He must be Impeached and removed from office NOW! Sign the petition to Impeach and Remove Walz!

Gazelka "Stopping All Tax Increases" Is A Confirmed Lie

Senator Paul Gazelka (Left) and Senator Scott Jensen (Right) in 2020. Image obtained from MinnPost

The 2022 gubernatorial race is beginning to heat up, and all six candidates running for the Republican endorsement are trying to make the case for why they are Minnesota’s best shot at replacing Governor Walz. Some of their pitches, however, end up being less truthful than others.

From a forum held on November 2nd, Former Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka claims that he “stopped all tax increases” with the Republican Majority. This would be great if it were true! But sadly, it is not. Watch the clip of Senator Gazelka making the claim below.

Under Gazelka’s leadership, Republicans slipped up on the sunsetting provider tax in 2019, more appropriately known as the Sick Tax. This is a tax charged to healthcare providers, which ultimately ends up getting charged to patients. Instead of letting the tax sunset, Republicans like Scott Jensen forced the Senate Caucus to get on board with the renewal of the tax at 1.8%, which fellow gubernatorial candidates Paul Gazelka and Michelle Benson ended up voting for.

READ ABOUT JENSEN’S SICK TAX HERE

So no, Paul Gazelka, you did not stop tax increases. You allowed a sunsetting tax that makes healthcare more expensive to be renewed. Worse, you let one Senator drag the entire caucus in the direction of tax increases.

Legislators Should Ignore Mandate; Stand For Constituents

Representative Erik Mortensen (above) defying the House Mask Mandate on his first day in office

Before we know it, Speaker Hortman will gavel in the 2022 Legislative Session at the Capitol. Unfortunately, she and her DFL colleagues have made it much more difficult for voters to interact with their legislators.

A few weeks ago, Speaker Melissa Hortman (Brooklyn Park - DFL) announced that the Minnesota House will continue to operate under Covid guidelines through the end of 2022 session. This means that legislators are required to wear masks, and voters are not allowed in the State Office Building.

Voters across the state of Minnesota are fired up against President Biden’s vaccine mandate, which is being supported by Governor Tim Walz. Thanks to Hortman, voters will be unable to show up at legislators offices and make their voices heard.

The Biden/Walz Covid-19 vaccine mandate officially takes effect on January 4th of 2022, but many employers have already begun firing employees for exercising their medical freedom.

Thankfully, there are some who will stand up to this condescending leftist rule. Representative Erik Mortensen took to Twitter on October 23rd  to announce that he would not comply with Hortman’s mandate.

More legislators need to refuse this mask mandate and actually stand up for voters who stand to lose their jobs because of the Biden/Walz vaccine mandate. It’s clear that the DFL is fine with keeping legislative offices closed because they know they stand to face electoral backlash.

Now is your time to hold your elected leaders accountable. Call AND email your State Representative at the link below, and tell them to stand against Speaker Hortman’s ridiculous rules that only stand to silence voters.
