Minneapolis Bailout Killed By Handful of DFLers
DFLers in St. Paul lamented the failure of their Minneapolis bailout bill on Monday. House File 445 sought to create a $35 million state fund to reimburse local governments for providing mutual aid during “unplanned or extraordinary public safety events.”
Though it’s not explicitly stated, this is an obvious attempt to give the city of Minneapolis money to pay for the destruction caused by riots last summer.
In a press conference, Speaker Melissa Hortman revealed that they didn’t have the votes to pass the bill in the house, where DFLers currently have a 70-64 majority. When pressed, Hortman admitted that a few members of the DFL caucus would likely vote against the bill, causing it to fail on the floor.
This is excellent news for fiscal conservatives everywhere, but don’t go thanking anyone just yet.
If those few unnamed DFLers are willing to vote against their caucus on this bill, then surely they can muster the courage to vote against Walz’ emergency powers.
Minnesota has been under Walz’ tyrannical reign for over 11 months now. There have been several attempts to repeal his powers, and now patriots everywhere have proof that it can be done.

Republican Senate Pushes More Insurance Bailouts Supported By Democrats
Many voters will say that they support Republicans for office because they are “conservative”. Unfortunately, Minnesota Senate Republicans are disproving that notion by introducing another trash piece of legislation.
Republicans are proposing an insurance company bailout, not different from proposals pushed by left-wingers like Congresswoman Angie Craig.
Both Republicans and Democrats alike have dubbed this bailout “reinsurance”, as to hide their true intentions behind a cute name. Instead of allowing the free market to work, this bailout would give away millions of dollars of taxpayer money and regulate healthcare providers.
This health insurance bailout doesn’t even come close to being considered fiscally conservative. Senate Republicans had a chance to end this awful program once and for all. Instead, they are opting to extend it.
It's bad pieces of legislation like this that led delegates to reject RINO Republican Bob Loonan in 2018. The Scott County GOP Chairman, Joe Ditto, explains that bad healthcare votes are among the reasons that true conservatives rejected him.
“MNsure: Republicans want the government out of their healthcare! All of us are sick and tired of the skyrocketing health care costs caused by MNsure and Obamacare. While the Republican platform calls for an end to MNsure, Loonan voted to backstop it and voted for bailouts to the tune of $300 million.”
Liberty-Champion Erik Mortensen ultimately succeeded Loonan in the Legislature. He has promised to never take bad votes like this one.
Why do Senate Republicans get a pass?
Tell Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka that this is NOT a win for conservative principles, nor a win for the people of Minnesota.
Republican Senate Advances Bill To Reinforce Punishments Violating Walz' Unconstitutional Edicts
Minnesota Senate Republicans have publicly positioned themselves as staunch opponents to Governor Walz’ illegal and unconstitutional edicts.
This, unfortunately, is just an outward appearance. Actions speak louder than words, and Republicans’ actions have only reinforced Walz’ tyrannical powers.
SF 89 was introduced by none other than Paul Gazelka’s right hand man, RINO Senator Warren Limmer.
This bill reinforces the legislature's apparent approval of Walz’ emergency powers. More specifically, this bill outlines the penalties for violating Walz’ executive orders.
That’s right, the people who claim to stand up for Minnesota business owners are writing bills that define the punishment for those same business owners!
These Senators only seem to be mad that Walz has defined the punishment for struggling business owners without their help! They don’t care at all that Walz has fundamentally abused his executive power and killed countless businesses around the state.
This is not the first time they have lied to voters, and it certainly won’t be the last.

If Senate Republicans legislated like they campaigned, they would tell Walz no deals or action of any kind until he relinquishes his devastating emergency powers.
If the Republican Senate won’t take serious political action against Walz, then the North Star Liberty Alliance will have to remind them of their priorities.

Mask Mandate To Be Put In Omnibus Bill?
“When you can’t pass it on its own, throw it into the omnibus bill.”
That’s the attitude that Republicans and DFLers alike have taken to a whole variety of issues.
When so many different proposals (including pet projects) get tossed into one big bill, legislators are more inclined to vote for it because there is more at stake.
Omnibus bills, or bills with a variety of subjects, are expressly prohibited by Article IV, Section 17 of the Minnesota Constitution:
“Laws to embrace only one subject. No law shall embrace more than one subject, which shall be expressed in its title.”
Legislators don’t care. They’ll argue that as the state has grown, omnibus bills are necessary because of how many services the state has taken on.
It is always sad to see legislators (on both sides of the aisle!) abandon their oath to the Constitution.
What’s even worse for the people of Minnesota, is that Walz’ permanent mask mandate may be tossed in with the omnibus bill.
That’s right, though the bill itself was put aside, there very well may be an effort to bring it back to the floor.
Senate Republicans ought to make NO DEALS until Governor Walz agrees to give up his emergency powers.
Anything less than a clean repeal of these job-killing executive orders is a betrayal to the people of Minnesota.

Rep. Haley Openly Admits Her Bill DOES NOT End Emergency Powers
The cat is out of the bag.
In an effort to appease her DFL colleagues, Representative Haley admitted in a committee meeting on Friday that her bill WOULD NOT end Walz’ Emergency Powers.
The North Star Liberty Alliance has been warning liberty-lovers around the state that this bill is no good, all the while Barb Haley called us liars.
“Again, to be clear, my language, this does not end the peacetime emergency…”

You see, Republicans by and large have only pretended to care about Walz’ emergency powers. They can talk all they want about ending the emergency, but talk is cheap.
Where’s the action on this? All establishment Republicans have put forth is meaningless reform bills that need a signature from the tyrant himself, Governor Tim Walz.
Why would Walz sign off on this bill that supposedly limits his executive power? It doesn’t make any sense.

Republicans should instead focus their attention towards outright repealing Walz’ current emergency powers by passing a simple resolution through the house and senate.
It can be done, especially considering that DFLers from swing districts are beginning to feel the heat from their constituents.
Call and email Barb Haley now, and tell her that she must turn her attention toward repealing Walz’ powers.

Walz Impeachment Resolution Just Introduced in the House
The grassroots effort to Impeach Walz has been 11 months in the making. Your hard work has paid off.
Today, Representative Erik Mortensen introduced his resolution to Impeach Governor Walz for violation of his constitutional oath of office, and abuses of power.
There is no question that this resolution faced steep odds. Many St Paul swamp creatures urged Mortensen to back down, and let Governor Walz get away with his injustices.
Representative Mortensen wouldn’t hear it.
There is, however, plenty of work yet to be done. Introducing the resolution is the easy part, now the North Star Liberty Alliance grassroots army MUST tell their elected officials to vote with Mortensen.

Senate Republicans Play Into The Democrats Hand
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse…
Senate Republicans introduced another USELESS bill to “reform” Walz’ executive powers. This bill would revoke Governor Walz’ ability to close schools.
There are many problems with this bill. The first of which is Senate Republicans are giving Walz legitimacy by admitting he has the power to shut down schools in the first place.
Walz has no such power. The only power he does have is to illegally make his executive level agencies enforce his decrees.
Secondly, this bill would need to be signed into law by the governor. If you have been paying attention to the news for the last several months, you’ll know that Walz is not eager to give up his authority. He certainly wouldn’t sign off on stripping away his powers in bite-sized pieces, either.
This is very similar to fake reform bills destined for failure that Senator Duckworth and Representative Haley are pushing. You can read more about them here.
If Senate Republicans know that Walz won’t sign their reform bills into law, why do they keep trying? Why don’t they pass a simple resolution in the senate, and work to flip a few vulnerable votes in the house to condemn Walz and end his powers once and for all?
They’re not willing to put in the work. Unfortunately, this plays right into the DFL’s plan to keep Walz’ powers around forever!

Legislators MUST Cut Taxes, Decrease Spending
Governor Tim Walz has spent the last week pushing his radical budget proposal, which would seek to drastically increase taxes on Minnesotans.
Republicans have countered with a “no new taxes” pledge that they may or may not keep.
Regardless of whether or not they do keep their promise, simply keeping the tax rate the same is not enough. Legislators should actively pursue tax and spending cuts for the upcoming biennium.
It’s no secret that Governor Walz is responsible for this economic recession. He’s had his pen ready to sign any job-killing executive order that’s been put in front of him for nearly 11 months.
In a last ditch effort to clean up his mess, he has proposed millions in new spending and taxes to try and keep the people of Minnesota happy.

Republican legislators should not accept the status quo. They should take this opportunity to refuse any consideration of Walz’ budget ideas until he gives up his economy-crushing executive orders.
IF they consider a budget, they must hold the line against tax and spending increases. If spending is cut, there is no budget deficit! In fact, if spending remained the same, there would be a $2.9 billion surplus!

New Bill: Politicians Want You To Wear Masks Forever!
If you thought Governor Walz’ current mask mandate was bad, get ready for what liberal DFLers in the legislature have to offer.
In an effort to make sure Walz’ economy-crushing regulations are written into law, liberal legislators drop a new mask mandate bill.
This is EXACTLY what Walz wants. He and his friends know that his executive orders are not (nor should they be) treated as law. This is a last ditch effort to enshrine his legacy before his powers are eliminated, or he is impeached and removed from office.
Things don’t get any better when you look at the details of this bill:
- Business Owners can face $25,000 and 90 days in jail for violation
- Individuals over 14 who violate will be fined $100
- No set expiration date.
You read that last one correctly. There is NO expiration date for this mask mandate. This law would only expire once both the CDC and the MN Department of Health give written permission that COVID-19 is no longer a threat.
This bill comes on the eve of the CDC recommending two masks instead of one. Clearly, they’re strapping in for the long run.
High School Athletes cannot take this crazy mask mandate any longer. They’re collapsing from a lack of airflow! Imagine requiring them to wear two masks!
Establishment politicians have trampled over the rights of Minnesotans for far too long. What will you do to stand up?

Business Owners Closing Doors Thanks To Heavy-Handed Government
It’s no secret that hundreds of thousands of businesses have had to close their doors in the past year.
Politicians will blame the nature of the global pandemic, when in reality they have nobody to blame but themselves.
The politicians who the people elected to represent and serve them have completely and utterly failed.
Even Senator Klobuchar acknowledges that businesses are in trouble. Noting that 800 businesses close PER DAY.
Her solution to the problem mandates more government bribes to keep business owners quiet for a month or two.
The only real and lasting solution to this economic catastrophe is to take government out of the equation.
Government has demonstrated time and time again that they only make matters worse, which is exactly what Walz has done with his own “emergency” powers.
Some legislators like Representative Dave Baker talk about plans to push the reopening of Minnesota’s economy to this summer! Small businesses cannot take months more of these crushing lockdowns! Businesses need economic freedom now.
What’s Minnesota’s Governor doing to fix this crisis?
To start, Tim Walz has proposed writing his economy-crushing regulations into law, as well as major tax hikes.
Neither of which lead to a path toward economic recovery. Perhaps it’s time for the legislature to step in and stop Walz from causing further damage to the state.
