Walz Looking To Bribe Minnesotans Into Getting Vaccine

As of writing, 62.4 percent of Minnesotans 16 and older have at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is good news for those who wish to get the vaccine, as it is their right to do so. However, it appears that these numbers are not good enough for Governor Walz. He won’t rest until everyone in Minnesota gets the vaccine -- even if they don’t want to.
Before he considers implementing vaccine passports, Walz is looking to bribe Minnesotans with their own tax dollars. According to Kare 11, Walz is considering giving away free fishing licenses or gift cards to Minnesotans who decide to get the COVID-19 vaccine. It appears that Walz has been inspired by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, who initiated a $1 million lottery for those who get the vaccine.
Not only would this be a poor use of tax dollars, but it would also serve as a punishment for those who choose not to get the COVID-19 vaccine. By redistributing tax dollars towards citizens who make the decision to get vaccinated, citizens who don’t get vaccinated are singled out for a decision that should be a private choice. Once again, the government is seeking to pick winners and losers.
Governor Walz should take a break from hogging the spotlight and let people live their lives. By clinging to his emergency powers like a toddler, Walz could write up an executive order implementing vaccine punishments as soon as tomorrow. Worse yet, it appears that making the vaccines mandatory is still on the table.
Walz’ executive edicts over the past 400 days have caused serious long term harm to the people of Minnesota, and his willingness to hold on to that power means there is more to come. With the legislature convening again in the coming weeks, there is still time to hold Walz accountable.
