Fearmongerers Like Osterholm Horribly Wrong - AGAIN

On Friday morning, Governor Walz issued a long-overdue executive order to lift his mask mandate. This means that businesses are no longer required to enforce mandatory masks if they don’t want to (unless you live in Minneapolis or St. Paul).

Imagine if Tyrant Tim Walz listened to his old friend, Dr. Michael Osterholm. Back in February, the University of Minnesota epidemiologist went on CBS to warn of upcoming “darkest days” due to COVID-19 variants. He predicted that states would once again initiate harsh lockdowns that were later proven to be not worth their cost.

It’s not out of the question to believe that Walz would have put his faith in Osterholm on this prediction, as both Governor Walz AND President Biden have taken his advice. Knowing that Chicken Little-Osterholm had a heavy influence on the pandemic response in this country, it’s clear that this whole thing is about power, not safety.

Even as Walz lifts his mask mandate order, he still has not given up his emergency powers. Though he is slowly being backed into a corner, he hopes that the executive powers up his sleeve will give him a leg up to do whatever he wants once the legislature adjourns.

Walz’ power trip must come to an end. Have you signed the petition to impeach him?

SIGN THE PETITION TO IMPEACH WALZ NOW

If you’ve already signed, then do not hesitate to send this article to your friends and family. Tyrant Tim Walz cannot get away with the havoc he has wreaked over the past year. The North Star Liberty Alliance will continue to gather and deliver petition signatures throughout the summer, even as legislators think that they have gotten off the hook. There is a political price to pay for issuing tyrannical executive orders, and Walz will face the music soon enough.

With Close To Zero COVID Deaths, Walz Still Demands Emergency Powers

It is becoming increasingly clear that the worst of the pandemic is now over. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported zero COVID-19 deaths on May 11th and thirteen deaths on May 12th. For reference, MDH reports that there were 44,553 deaths in Minnesota in 2019, and 7,255 deaths from COVID-19 total.

This is not to diminish the importance of those who have died. Many of us may know someone who has been negatively impacted by COVID-19. These numbers, however, do not justify destroying livelihoods and taking away civil liberties.

While other Governors are finally lifting their executive orders, Walz continues to cling to his. California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that his mask mandate will be lifted on June 15th -- weeks before Walz’ July 1st deadline! Walz loves his power and will keep it for as long as he can.

Even while Walz will eventually take his hands off of the economy, it appears he will cling to his emergency powers which allow him to shut down the entire state with a stroke of a pen. This kind of power should not be vested in one man alone. The legislature must hold Walz accountable and take back their ability to legislate.

If you’re tired of living under King Walz, then consider signing on to the petition to Impeach Walz for his tyranny. Though the establishment has tried to run the clock on the growing Impeachment efforts, that does not mean Walz is off the hook. The North Star Liberty Alliance will continue to pour pressure on Walz and negligent legislators all summer if that’s what it takes.

Walz Pushes For Funding Failed CCAP Program

With budget negotiations stalling at the Capitol, Governor Walz has decided to pour gasoline on the fire. In addition to his ridiculous budget asks, he has encouraged legislators to increase funding for the problematic Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).

In 2019, the Office of the Legislative Auditor confirmed that millions of taxpayer dollars disappeared through this program, though the exact amount is unknown. Some estimates say that upwards of $100 million was stolen by fraudulent daycare providers who took advantage of the system. Legislators at the time took no action to hold this agency accountable. Now, Governor Walz thinks that this program needs more money.

It’s clear that our elected leaders are committed to wasting our tax dollars any way they can. With billions of dollars in surplus spending and federal spending coming into the treasury, Walz and his friends in the legislature are throwing money everywhere they can. Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka claims to be a fiscal conservative, yet won’t take a strong stance against these radical spending proposals.

If you believe that CCAP funding needs to be cut off, call and email Paul Gazelka and tell him to refuse any kind of bad budget bill.

Gazelka Takes Half-Measure Against Walz On Masks

It’s rare to see Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka actually stand up to Governor Walz, but that’s exactly what happened last week. On Friday, Gazelka announced that he was lifting the mask requirement in the Senate chamber. KTOE reports that Gazelka told fellow senators that, starting Monday:

“We are gonna allow everybody to be back on the Senate floor in your normal seat, if you want to. So we’re not gonna require it, but if you want to you may, and masks will be optional.”

This guidance is contrary to Walz’ mask mandate, which he has extended until July 1st for all Minnesotans. It’s nice to see Gazelka stand up on this issue, but it’s not enough. As the leader of the Senate, Gazelka has the authority to stop Walz’ executive powers in their tracks.

If he truly wanted to stand up for his constituents, he would say “no deals” on the budget until Governor Walz relinquishes his overreaching executive powers that have been destroying Minnesota businesses for over 400 days now.

Instead, Gazelka has signaled that he is ready to make a bad deal. His budget proposal is slightly more modest than Walz’ proposal, but does not do nearly enough to reconcile for the economic devastation caused by Walz. With a $1.6 billion surplus, Gazelka and his fellow senators should be pushing for tax refunds and tax relief for the citizens of Minnesota.

Call Paul Gazelka now and tell him to not bow down to the radical left. If he is willing to defy Walz’ authority with masks, surely he can step it up and prevent a bad budget from going through.

Minnesota Economy Slow To Recover Thanks To Walz

There is a lot of confusion surrounding Minnesota’s economic recovery. Many businesses have either closed down for good or relocated due to factors like safety concerns, high taxes, and uncertainty about future lockdowns. When you look at the root cause of this economic devastation, all signs point back to Governor Tim Walz.

Even now as many states have completely stripped any kind of COVID-19 regulation, Walz is hoping that he can hold on to his unilateral powers for a few more months. Tyrant Tim’s announcement that the mask mandate will remain in place until July has got to be a disappointment for freedom lovers everywhere.

It’s no wonder that construction in the Twin Cities only grew by 1% in March. People are not looking to start their fledgling business in Minnesota, and certainly are not looking to continue their business here. If Walz truly cared about the wellbeing of Minnesotans, he would fight to ensure economic prosperity for all people, not just the big box stores.

Instead of proposing radical tax and spending increases, Governor Walz and legislators must return the $1.6 billion budget surplus to the people of Minnesota and implement steep tax cuts to ensure that the government stops overtaxing its citizens. Then and only then Minnesota can begin to shed its reputation as a high tax/big regulation state.

Will Walz ever do this? Probably not. He has thus far refused to admit just how much damage he has caused by keeping small businesses in the dark for over a year. He thinks he is saving lives with his unilateral executive orders, when in reality he may actually be putting them in jeopardy.

If Walz’ bad behavior is ignored, future governors may take that as a sign that they too can rule the state via executive order without consequence. Because Walz wielded his power with bad data, killing businesses and livelihoods in the process, he must be impeached and removed from office.

Impeachment is not an action to take lightly, but it is a necessary one. Representative Erik Mortensen has prepared Articles of Impeachment against Walz for his conduct and needs cosponsors to gain traction. The North Star Liberty Alliance has been working hard to show legislators exactly why this is so important.

Sign on to the Impeachment Petition now and pledge your support to the cause. Every name that’s added to the petition is another name that your legislator needs to read when weighing their options on impeachment.

Walz Admits To Constitutional Rights Violation

Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison have finally admitted to what we knew all along… The unilateral executive orders coming from Walz’ desk were inherently unconstitutional.

By ordering churches to close last year, Walz clearly violated the 1st amendment right to freely assemble. This is the case that the Upper Midwest Law Center (UMLC) made in their lawsuit against Walz. Despite Radical Keith Ellison’s attempt to shoot it down on March 30th, the proceedings continued.

Knowing that they would lose in Court, Walz and Ellison decided to settle and admit that the executive order regulating churches was unconstitutional. This means that Walz can no longer apply his ridiculous capacity limits to houses of worship.

Despite liberal-appointed judges ruling the courts across Minnesota, Walz was served his first defeat on his overreaching executive orders.

It is incredibly important to note that Governor Walz is now admitting that his actions were unconstitutional. Despite this victory, there are still students, small business owners, and long-term care occupants that have to see justice for the horrible directives that Tyrant Tim Walz has instituted.

Walz must be impeached for his conduct, and the North Star Liberty Alliance is leading the charge on getting legislators on board. So far, Representatives Munson and Drazkowski have signed on to Representative Mortensen’s Articles of Impeachment against the Governor. If you are not represented by the aforementioned legislators, your voice on this issue is not being heard.

Contact your State Representative now, and ask them why they will not sign on to Articles of Impeachment. Do not let them give you the typical political workaround. This effort is about bringing accountability back to the governor’s mansion and giving the legislature back their duty to legislate.

COVID-19 Fearmongering Continues With New Variant

There are several mixed signals coming from Governor Walz’ administration on the future of his overreaching executive authority. On one hand, Walz has announced that he will be easing his extreme restrictions (Potentially late in the summer!) and on the other hand, Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Commissioner Jan Malcolm has announced that Minnesota now has six cases of the “double mutant” COVID-19 variant. She also notes that:

"there is still an extremely high level of virus circulating all over the state."

When you compare Minnesota to other states like Texas or Florida, it is clear that Walz should give up his mask mandate right now, NOT in several months from now. Announcing his intention to get rid of the restrictions at some point in the future is his attempt to keep the public calm. Perhaps he is not ready to give up his authority because he is ready to lock down again.

Bring Me The News reports that the “double mutant” variation of COVID-19 has made its way from India to Minnesota. The World Health Organization believes that this variation could evade vaccine immunity, potentially meaning that Minnesota could be in serious trouble if Walz continues to wield his power like a tyrant.

Regardless of how serious this new variant may be, it is clear that the lockdowns and restrictions did not work. All they did is cost jobs and livelihoods in a poor attempt to make it look like serious action was being taken. Walz and his team will never admit to this, of course. After all, he needed an excuse to unilaterally write his own laws.

Regardless of what happens, the people of Minnesota cannot let Walz continue on his power trip. It’s time for the people to say that they have had enough of his overreaching orders and that the time to lift them is now. If you agree, then sign the petition to Impeach and remove Walz. It’s time to send a message to the executive branch and anyone who may replace Walz that this kind of tyranny is unacceptable.

Weak Republican Budget Proposal Comes With NO Emergency Power Repeal

If you have been paying attention to Minnesota politics for a while now, it’s more than likely you have been let down once or twice by your elected leaders. After talking a big game on holding Walz accountable for a year now, you should be especially disappointed with Senate Republicans.

At a press conference yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka announced his weak rebuttal to Walz’ and House DFLers budget proposals. Most notably absent from this proposal is Representative Mortensen’s “Never Again” Emergency Power Reform.

The Senate budget proposal would allow the majority of Walz’ bad executive orders to remain in place, like the overreaching restrictions on businesses and his moratorium on evictions. The powers that this proposal does suggest removing can be reinstated by Walz the second session ends.

If Gazelka couldn’t be bothered to include emergency powers reform in his proposal, then what did he include?

Insurance company bailouts.

That’s right. Gazelka and Senate Republicans felt that insurance company bailouts were more important than killing Walz’ emergency powers.

The program dubbed “reinsurance” uses taxpayer dollars to reimburse insurance companies on claims over $50,000. This program is loved by left-wing radicals and will likely pass into law because phony conservatives in the State Senate are officially behind it. What ever happened to fiscal responsibility?

Fortunately, it is not too late to hold your senators accountable. Reach out to your state senator and tell them Gazelka’s proposal is garbage. Before Republicans talk about any kind of compromise whatsoever, they must include REAL emergency power reform so that no governor can take up the mantle of tyranny like Walz has.

Gazelka and Hortman Are Ready To Spend Your Tax Dollars

Everybody knows that their elected officials will usually put on a show. They will pick fights with legislators across the aisle to show that they are standing up for their constituents, just to go out for drinks with them later on and scheme how they can spend your tax dollars.

This morning, it appears that Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka and House Speaker Melissa Hortman accidentally forgot to put on their show for the cameras.

In Fluence Media’s “Fluence Forum'' this morning, legislative leaders met to discuss their plans for completing a budget. Though there previously has been some friction over what to include, it appears that both Speaker Hortman and Senator Gazelka have united behind the cause of spending every last tax dollar that they can!

Hortman tried to play off their differences in policy when she explained:

“The track record is that Senator Gazelka and I have been able to bridge some pretty enormous gulfs… There’s so much common ground.”

I don’t know about you, but when I hear that there is “so much” common ground between leaders of both caucuses, it’s clear that they’re working for each other and not the people that they represent.

Caucus leaders continued to explain that a government shutdown is the last thing that they want, and they expect to have conference committee budget targets completed by this Friday, May 7th.

Unfortunately, if Gazelka is willing to do nearly anything to avoid a government shutdown, he’ll likely bow down and let far-left wingers walk all over him. His pledge against new taxes may be in jeopardy if he does not hear from the people he is supposed to be representing.

Call Senator Gazelka now and tell him to stick to his promise against new taxes. Better yet, tell him to fight against any kind of new spending and to return the budget surplus to the people of Minnesota.
