In a late November interview with CBS Minnesota, Governor Walz explained that he is well aware that Minnesotans have no interest in these business destroying lockdowns. 

He also made it clear that he doesn’t care. 

The governor says he’s doing what he thinks is best for the state, but Minnesotans have been saying that we can decide on our own what’s best for us and our families without government interference. 

It’s a sacred human right to be able to assess and assume risks. Nobody is asking those who are afraid to go outside unmasked and put themselves at risk, but for those of us who understand that getting sick is part of life, and are healthy enough to risk getting sick, it’s our right to do so.

These lockdowns are tyrannical, and Minnesotans know it. We’ve had ENOUGH. The weekend prior to the aforementioned interview with CBS Minnesota, there was a large crowd peacefully protesting from outside the governor’s mansion.

The people of Minnesota deserve better. We deserve to provide for our families and live our lives in pursuit of happiness how we see fit.

The governor says he’s protecting us, but who wants to live to be 100 years old surviving off of anemic federal stimulus checks, socialized medicine, and staying away from friends and loved ones? Most would rather risk illness than live that way indefinitely. 

200,000 Minnesotans were put out of work. Tens of thousands of businesses shut down, too many of which will never be able to open again. Why? Because power-hungry Walz refuses to give up control of our lives.

It’s never been a secret that politicians are perfectly satisfied with sidestepping the rules… but you would think there would be a line drawn somewhere. 

The Minnesota House doesn’t seem to know where that line is. 

During session last week, Representative Erik Mortensen called out the fact that a quorum was NOT present in the house. According to the Minnesota Constitution, legislative proceedings should have ceased right then and there.

Article IV, Section 12 of the Minnesota Constitution states that:

“The legislature shall meet at the seat of government in regular session in each biennium at the times prescribed by law for not exceeding a total of 120 legislative days. The legislature shall not meet in regular session, nor in any adjournment thereof, after the first Monday following the third Saturday in May of any year. After meeting at a time prescribed by law, the legislature may adjourn to another time. "Legislative day" shall be defined by law. A special session of the legislature may be called by the governor on extraordinary occasions.”

The seat of government being St. Paul. So while zoom meetings from legislator’s offices in St. Paul may be constitutional, calling in their vote from home is not. 

Article IV, Section 13 states:

“A majority of each house constitutes a quorum to transact business, but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day and compel the attendance of absent members in the manner and under the penalties it may provide.”

Representative Mortensen made note that a quorum was NOT present. Observing that only 44 legislators were present in St. Paul. 67 are needed for a quorum. 

When Mortensen raised his point of order, Speaker Hortman outright dismissed him with no explanation for why she was ignoring the rule.

It’s a simple rule, but its violation is very telling of how seriously Hortman and her friends take their oath of office. 

These politicians will wag their finger at us, saying that we MUST obey their rules because they’re in charge. Meanwhile, they aren’t following the rules set for them! 

Sadly, this is the kind of behavior that we have come to expect from establishment figures in Minnesota. From violating the single-subject clause of the constitution limiting bills to one subject to violating their own house rules (Read about it HERE), there are no rules the legislature WON’T break.

It’s comforting to know that liberty-lovers across the state have Erik Mortensen to stand up for them, but sad that there are not more like him.

In a recent legislative town hall meeting, Representative Erik Mortensen highlighted a fantastic point made by Dr. Michael Osterholm, who is an American Epidemiologist and President Joe Biden’s leading coronavirus adviser. 

On the subject of cloth and paper face masks, Dr. Osterholm said that wearing them was “like fixing three of the five sprinklers on your submarine.” In the same video, he goes on to point out the “very exhaustive studies on masks” in 1918, which he says “not one of them found that [masks] made any difference”.

Dr. Osterholm went on to laugh at the thought of cloth masks making any difference. This guy is a leader in epidemiology, and a new Biden appointee. Surely his opinion counts for something to the tyrants around the country.

Osterholm says at the very beginning of the video that we, as Americans want to do something to help, and he’s right. But, as he said throughout his video, there is no substantial evidence to support a mask mandate. 

It should be the choice of every American whether or not they want to wear a mask. The United States is about liberty and justice for all. In this country, healthcare should be an individual decision. The same applies to staying home. Americans are smart enough to weigh the risks of this virus to themselves and their family, and choose whether to stay home or not. 

The ability to assess and assume risks is a human right as sacred as speech, religion, or self defense. Liberty is the fabric the United States was woven from, and 245 years later, we’re debating about whether or not someone is allowed to breathe the way they see fit, or if the government ought to meddle in the matter of oxygen. It’s disgusting!

Since July 22nd, 2020, His Royal Highness Tim Walz has had his hand over the mouths of Minnesotans. The mandates, the lockdowns, they would make the founders roll over in their graves. 

The good people of Minnesota have had their basic liberties trodden on for far too long. We’ve suffered under the thumb of Tim Walz, as he writes his unconstitutional edicts from his pretended throne in St. Paul. He needs to be held accountable.

Last week, Governor Walz stepped outside of his luxurious governor’s mansion to conduct an interview with ABC 6. 

Not only did Walz stick to his condescending talking points on why his emergency powers are “necessary”, but he introduced some pretty scary thinking. 

Walz told the interviewer that “...if we had just one person telling everybody what to do, I guess, you know, we wouldn’t have to have these heartfelt disagreements”.

Walz doesn’t want us to live in a constitutional republic, he wants us to live under a dictatorship with him as the king. The cat is out of the bag, but we should not be surprised. His blatant disregard for the legislature these past 10 months has already told us he is a tyrant. 

He goes on to cite that his powers are legal based on our state constitution and “Chapter 12 of statutes from the state legislature”. He claims that rulings from democrat appointed judges uphold his understanding. Here is why he is wrong:

The Minnesota Constitution states in Article III, Section 1 that…

 “The powers of government shall be divided into three distinct departments: legislative, executive and judicial. No person or persons belonging to or constituting one of these departments shall exercise any of the powers properly belonging to either of the others except in the instances expressly provided in this constitution.”

There is a very clear separation of powers listed in the constitution, something that many of us learn about in elementary school. 

Considering Walz’ was a history teacher, surely he must know this. He’s being willfully ignorant, and looking to vague rules made up by the legislature to justify his actions. 

Here’s another one he should know: The State Constitution trumps State Statutes. 

Tyrant Tim doesn’t care about any of it. He’s on a 10 month long power trip with no end in sight. Your North Star Liberty Alliance is leading the charge to remove him from office for his blatant abuse of power.

It’s that wonderful time of year. As the campaign promises crumble, politicians are ready to get back to work at the Capitol. 

The legislature is set to begin budget compromises for the next two years. The state is projected to see a $1.27 Billion shortfall thanks to Governor Walz’ mishandling of our economy. 

Republicans like Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka have made a “No New Taxes” pledge this year… where have we heard that one before?

That’s going to be a hard one to keep, considering that the legislature has a better record on raising taxes than they do on cutting them. 

If Senate Republicans plan to keep their promise, they’ll need to fight with everything they have in them. Last time the legislature needed to craft a budget, Republicans allowed the sick tax they promised to eliminate to be renewed. 

It appears that on the house side of things, “everything is on the table”. Including tax increases and using the state’s rainy day fund. 

Don’t get us wrong, we hope that Republicans follow through and STOP tax increases… but we are not optimistic based on their track record. They'll try and argue compromise is necessary. Why should they compromise when they have control of the senate? 

In fact, Republicans should not be making ANY kind of deals until Walz and his friends give up their “emergency powers” that have caused this economic turmoil.

Walz doesn't seem to understand that his lockdowns are the reason the state is seeing lower revenue this year. His friends will surely be asking for more spending regardless.

In fact, radical Attorney General Keith Ellison is already asking for MORE money to crack down on small business owners!

Tell Republicans to keep their promises! Tell them to say no to tax and spending increases, and that they MUST repeal Walz’ emergency powers.

The day was March 23rd, 2020. It was gorgeous outside. The winter had melted away in St. Paul, and families around the state were excited to gather together to celebrate the first day of the year where the weather would be above 60 degrees.

That is, until “Tyrant” Tim Walz decided that would be a crime. That day, the Governor announced plans to shut down Minnesota businesses, and two days later, ordered Minnesotans to “shelter in place” for the coming 15 days. 

This destructive edict from the royal halls of his majesty Governor Walz would later be renewed on April 8th, for an additional 30 days. 4 more weeks without work for Minnesotans, who already have had their rights trodden on for far too long. 

Nine days later, Minnesotans protested peacefully to demand an end to the madness, but their cries fell on deaf ears. 4 days before the order was set to finally expire, his Holy Majesty and Liege Lord Walz extended the decretel, declaring his subjects must remain unemployed and housebound for yet another 2 weeks, now set to expire May the 17th. 

May 18th rolls around, and Tsar Walz elects to dress up his tyranny, now calling it a “Stay Safe” act. 

Through the end of May, then June, then July and August, then through the fall, and into the winter, Governor Walz unilaterally extended his emergency powers. The legislature REFUSED to get in the way of his royal highness, who continued to usurp the rights and livelihoods of Minnesotans from East Grand Forks to Rochester. 

Anti-liberty RINO’s and DFLers alike allowed this tyranny to thrive unchecked, now for 10 long months. It was not until the early summer when Republicans saw that fighting against Walz' powers would be politically savvy (likely due to the fact Senator Paul Gazelka received a primary challenger). 

There is a silver-lining to this cloud. In an apparent rebuke to Governor Walz and his tyrannical policies, voters ushered Erik Mortensen into the Minnesota House. 

In a virtual town hall meeting on January 13th, Representative Mortensen shared that  nearly all  of the emails he received over the first week of the legislative session were about ending Tyrant Walz’ emergency powers. Walz’ emergency orders shut down Minnesota's economy for the last ten months,  causing the loss of nearly 200,000 jobs in Minnesota in 2020.

“I actually went back and tracked all of the emails I got over the first week of session,” liberty champion Erik Mortensen said, “and 93% of the emails were people saying ‘we need to bring the emergency powers to an end.” 

Representative Mortensen introduced a resolution on his very first day on the floor to end the emergency powers of the tyrant Governor Walz, but says, “Unfortunately, the Speaker of the House chose to ignore some of the house rules, and railroaded the effort.” 

Representative Mortensen has been fighting since day one to do what is right for the people of Minnesota, which is ending Tyrant Walz’ emergency powers. 

The tyranny from the office of the governor, aided by a majority in the legislature that has no intention of doing its job, has steamrolled small businesses, and put thousands of Minnesota families out of work. It’s time we end these emergency powers.

The North Star Liberty Alliance has been talking a lot about the Fake End Emergency Powers bill moving through the legislature. What’s so bad about it?

A LOT of things. To start, it lets both DFLers and Republicans off the hook for Walz’ emergency powers. Meaning…

IT DOESN’T DO ANYTHING!

This bill that has been proposed by establishment Republicans does not end Walz’ emergency, rather, it reforms the legislature’s ability to end emergency powers. See our main problem with the bill below:

In reality, it's no real reform. It just moves words around.

Establishment Republicans will say that this stops Walz and future governors from abusing their powers. If this is so good to smack down his powers, then why would Walz ever sign this bill into law? If he is looking to keep his power, then the last thing he would do is handicap himself. 

This is what needs to happen:

1. End Walz’ Emergency - No Deals, No compromise, No Nothing until this happens.
2. Repeal Emergency Powers Law completely - Eliminate the law that Walz points to for justifying his fake power. End Chapter 12 Emergency Powers with a clean, complete repeal, then this nightmare cannot return. NEVER AGAIN!
3. Impeach Walz - He needs to be held accountable to abusing his power. Enough said. 

Anything less than this is complete hot air from Republicans.

RINOs like Rep. Barb Haley complain that the second that the legislature votes to repeal Walz’ emergency powers, he’ll simply declare a new emergency. Then, the legislature will have to go through the process all over again. 

Good! Let Walz do this. It would be political suicide for him and his political allies. This would be an official statement that he DOES NOT care about the input of the legislature, which is supposed to be a co-equal branch. It would throw the crossover Democrats who vote to End the Emergency Powers and put the DFL into disarray. 

The Republicans need to grow a spine and politically fight back! They need to press the action and not try to eat whatever crumbs the Democrats give them. Why would the Democrats do a deal on Emergency Powers that hurts their party’s governor? This is a tell that it is a terrible deal!

If the legislature repeals his powers, and if he comes back over the top and tries to declare a new emergency, that would be a booming message to every Minnesotan, even Democrats, that the Governor is off his rocker and would ultimately provide more support for Impeachment. A win-win. 

Moreover, it gives the Courts more reason to step in to smack down Walz’ orders and finally do their job!

Instead, Republicans are pushing this fake bill that...

• Will "rearrange the deckchairs on Titanic" and not stop executive emergencies in the future, leaving the door wide open for abuse - again!

• Doesn’t end the current “emergency” - releases pressure on the Democrats.

• Is clearly a piece of trash if the governor is willing to sign it and does NOTHING to stop him.

… And that may be the whole point. Politicians want to SAY they’re doing something. These politicians are masters of deception to whisper sweet nothings in our ear to make us go away and let them off the hook.

Which is exactly what would happen with this Fake End Emergency Powers bill. It will let the Governor off the hook. Let the Democrats off the hook. And let Republicans off the hook. And that's why this unholy alliance is plowing forward.

In this case, if Walz reinstituted his unlawful powers after the legislature revokes them, legislators would need to take an official stance on impeachment. That’s a good thing. So let the governor try to go around the legislature again after they pass the resolution to End Walz’ Emergency Powers. 

There are a few good legislators who saw this fake reform bill for what it really is. Representatives Drazkowski, Munson & Bahr all voted against it. Meanwhile, the crossover Democrats Reps Lislegard, Marquart, Sandstede, Pelowski and Sundin all voted for it! These are the same Democrats that have now betrayed everyone and voted AGAINST Ending Emergency Powers twice now in January after promising last year and just weeks ago to vote for it. Should you trust these liars?

And look at the Subcommittee on Legislative Process Reform who are getting together to push this trash bill:

Are we supposed to believe the people who have already sold us out once, lied to us during campaign season and now betrayed us to vote to End Walz’ Emergency Powers just last week? No way!

Representative Mortensen has introduced a resolution that would be a clean repeal of Walz’ emergency powers. When introduced, Mortensen was pushed under the rug by the DFL majority. 

These other weak RINOs would rather hear the fake bill that doesn’t do anything than hear a bill that returns Minnesota to normal.

We MUST remind our legislative leaders they work for us and what we demand. Tell RINO members of the committee that voters want a REAL END TO WALZ’ POWERS, not some trash bill!

Republicans NEED to get serious about repealing Governor Walz’ emergency powers. So far, all we are getting is political theater. 

Republicans like Representatives Barb Haley and Marion O’Neill CLAIM to have the answer to Walz’ emergency powers, but are really just looking to score cheap political points. 

In an email to one of her constituents obtained by the North Star Liberty Alliance, Haley claims that grassroots organizations like us are “lying” to you. 

Here is why she is WRONG AGAIN:

Above is the bill that Haley and other RINOs (Republican in Name Only) have been pushing. As you can see, this bill DOES NOT end Walz’ emergency powers. 

When pressed, Haley acknowledges that this is the case. She tries to defend herself, claiming that legislators need to work to reform his powers before they can vote to end them. This is a cop-out answer. 

If these reforms Haley and other RINOs are proposing are so detrimental to Walz’ powers, then why would he ever sign them into law?

Voting to end Walz’ powers does not need a signature from him, just a majority vote in both the House and the Senate. In reality, much more likely to happen than this "reform" bill she's pushing. 

Haley is unfortunately not the only Republican who is on board with this fake bill. Did you see that Marion O'Neill outright lied about her support for the bill? 

Some Republicans saw this bill for what it really was -- a fake -- and voted against it.

Now, it appears that Haley and her friends will be trying to revive this fake bill and bring it up for a vote, instead of supporting resolutions that REALLY end Walz’ powers. 

The establishment is pushing Haley to the front of the house caucus, because they see her as a potential candidate for higher office. If she is looking to represent liberty-lovers across the state, one would hope she would push better legislation than this. 

Let Representative Haley know that SHE MUST DO BETTER. Call her and let her know!

What the RINO Republicans have been attempting over the past few months is nothing more than political theater.

Rep. Barb Haley - a moderate from Red Wing - has been pushed to the front of the caucus as the chief negotiator on Walz’ powers. The DFLers in the legislature seem to like working with her… and there is a reason for that.

Haley and her friends have no interest in actually repealing Walz’ powers and opening our economy. They are looking to push through emergency power reform that really doesn’t change the tyranny we’ve been living under for the past several months.

As you can see, they are mostly just moving words around. This is to give the illusion that action is being taken to please their constituents. The DFLers like working with Haley BECAUSE they know nothing will change, and Walz can still cling to his powers for the time being.

Representative Barb Haley is looking to run for higher office -- and this is supposed to be her crown achievement.

Straight out of Denial-ville, Republican Representative Marion O’Neill is making Pinocchio blush and telling people some whoppers. And worse yet, there’s undeniable proof she’s lying. But should we expect anything less from these politicians who will do or say anything to get re-elected?

Career Politician, Republican Representative Marion O’Neill, is on her 5th Term in office slated to be there for a decade - TEN YEARS! Desperate to hold onto her power, she’s off telling lies to people. 

As reported by our friends at Action 4 Liberty HERE, Republican Representative Marion O’Neill has been put on the Subcommittee on Legislative Process Reform. This committee is trying to “reform” Chapter 12 which has the section Walz cites for his illegal and unconstitutional edicts of Emergency Powers. Rather than doing what they should do -- outright Ending Emergency Powers.

These politicians are playing right into the hands of the enemy by looking at giving them a cover bill. If they pass a Fake End Emergency Powers bill, these people will run around town saying they did something when in actuality they just made the Powers permanent. They allow these politicians off the hook, and we cannot let them get away with it. 

Statute 12.31 subdivision 2 reads:

“Declaration of peacetime emergency. (a) The governor may declare a peacetime emergency. A peacetime declaration of emergency may be declared only when an act of nature, a technological failure or malfunction, a terrorist incident, an industrial accident, a hazardous materials accident, or a civil disturbance endangers life and property and local government resources are inadequate to handle the situation.”

This is where all the shutdowns garbage emanates. Walz cites 12.31 as his authority - wrongly of course - to tell people they can’t have Thanksgiving with their family threatening to toss people into jail. This guy is off his rocker. 

Now any sane person would conclude we have to End Emergency Powers outright so this nightmare never revisits us. Not round some edges making Walz’ powers permanent. But what are the weak Republicans doing? They are positioning to sell us out!

Not only that, but they already did! (with the exception of a few genuine fighters)

Rep. Marion O’Neill already did.

If you remember, Republicans FAILED to bring forward a vote to End Walz’ Emergency Powers in November 2020 after doing so for five straight months. This after just promising to do so throughout the entire election. These politicians are saying one thing to get elected and then betraying people afterward as we are all too familiar.

So instead, on November 12th, 2020, after the election, REPUBLICANS stabbed liberty lovers in the back by pushing and voting for HF19 that did not end the powers at all. You can see Representative Marion O’Neill's and everyone’s vote HERE and pictured below here:

As you can see in the full vote, a few Republicans voted against this thing on principle including Rep. Steve Drazkowski and Rep. Jeremy Munson. 

As Action 4 Liberty points out, if this reform is so good for us, why on Earth would Walz sign it? And if we have a vote to do something, why wouldn’t we vote to repeal this outright and End Emergency Powers?! 

This trash bill shows it and you can read the language for yourself. In fact, it says merely the same thing as before but that they can curtail some lockdown rules rather than doing the right thing and Ending his Emergency Powers outright. See the language here:

O’Neill where she denies up and down that she is working on a Fake End Walz’ Emergency Powers bill and trying to make them permanent. However, you can see right here on the subcommittee’s website the purpose for them meeting - which starts on January 22nd, 2021 is:

“Review of Executive Orders issued by Governor Walz during the Peacetime Emergency.”

Now if that isn’t enough, these politicians talked about it openly on the House floor on Monday, January 11th, 2021 when they were debating a real End Walz’ Emergency Resolution and you can hear and watch it for yourself. (they begin talking about it at about 24:05) 

So not only is Rep. Marion O’Neill lining up to stab us in the back but she ALREADY DID in November. Votes don’t lie. 

Struggling business owners have NO INTEREST in political theater. It’s time the legislature take a stand and end Walz’ powers. We need to demand a clean vote, none of this Fake End Emergency Powers garbage.

The longer they let this go on, the longer Walz gets away with destroying Minnesota’s economy for years to come. Help us make sure Walz learns his lesson.
